Crafting Guide
Creating objects through crafting grants you access to tools that may otherwise be unavailable and allows you to profit beyond your rewards from adventuring. Crafting takes a great deal of time and effort and can wear you out if not done carefully. This guide presents all of the rules related to how to create your own objects.
Craft is an adventuring action that takes 1 hour, requires either Tools or Magic depending on the object to be made. While crafting a magical object, each roll costs 1 Energy. You will normally need to make many rolls to complete a single object, each roll representing a specified amount of progress towards completion. The roll is DL 6 + the Craft Tier of the object. To craft, you must always have a Free Limb, normally a hand, to work with.
Requirements
In order to craft an object, you must be familiar with the object, know how to work in the material of the object, be able to create an object of the Craft Tier of the object, and provide materials to be crafted into the object.
To craft an object you are not familiar with, you must first succeed a Knowledge roll to know how to craft it or obtain blueprints of the object. Even if you know how to make an object, having blueprints can make it easier. Anyone can craft food and objects using bone, clay, cloth, paper, or string of Craft Tier up to their Tools Tier. All other materials require learning an ability that specifies that material.
Everyone with Tier 1 Tools can craft any Craft Tier 0 object. Objects of a higher Craft Tier require learning abilities that specify you can make objects of the type. For Tier 1 objects, you can craft without tools, but you suffer -1d12 and -3 on your roll. Craft Tier 2 and higher object also require that you have the right tools for the job.
The raw materials you need is determined by the object to be crafted. If the object is non-magical, the material needed is 150% of the Bulk of craft material of the object. If the object is magical, you must provide souls equal to 80% of the objects cost.

Progress
To determine when an object is complete, you must make progress. The amount of progress needed is based on the type of object. For non-magical objects, the Progress required is 50 x Bulk x Craft Tier x Material Multiplier. Craft Tier 0 objects count as 1/2 for the Craft Tier. For magical objects, the Progress required is equal to double the Soul cost of the object.
A successful Craft roll results in making an amount of progress equal to your roll. You then count the total amount of progress you have made on the object, and if that equals or exceeds the progress you need, the object is complete.
If you don't have much time available or don't need to make much progress, you can Craft using less time by reducing the progress you make. Up to 3 times per roll, you can half the time needed and progress you make.

Workshop
A proper space to work allows greater efficiency than laying out your tools wherever you may be. Spaces are rated Tier 1 to 6. Reduce the time it takes to Craft by 5% x Tier. A workshop can be rented for 2 x Tier Souls each day.
Teamwork
Any number of creatures can work on the same object as long as there is space for them to reach the object. Each creature that can work on the object can make their own progress. Any creature with at least Tier 2 Tools and a Free Limb can Aid.
To create the most powerful magical objects and complicated technology, there are often many assistants to get the job done. As it can be challenging to have more than a few aids to a single crafter, some assistants may Aid other assistants making it more likely for that assistant to be able to Aid.
